Senate Amendment Bars Federal Officials From Issuing Cryptocurrencies

An amendment to the Clarity Act under consideration in the U.S. Senate aims to regulate cryptocurrencies, including banning federal officials from issuing or endorsing them.

The proposed change also restricts the president's ability to profit from cryptocurrencies.
