Binance Unveils $300M Compliance Spend, Touts AI Successes

Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has released new statistics on its compliance and safety efforts. The company spends around $300 million annually on compliance, an amount exceeding what many traditional financial institutions allocate for similar purposes.

This investment results in a significant presence of compliance professionals within Binance, with nearly one in four employees working in roles dedicated to user protection. In fact, the exchange's compliance headcount is roughly 8.6 times higher than the industry average, according to estimates from the Boston Consulting Group.

Binance also highlighted its use of artificial intelligence systems to detect and prevent illicit activity on its platform. These AI tools have intercepted approximately $10.53 billion in potential fraud since 2025, with the exchange recovering over $174 million linked to external hacks and security breaches during that period.
