Cryptocurrency Market Preparing for $438M Token Unlocks in March

Several major cryptocurrency projects have token unlocks scheduled for the third week of March 2026, with over $438 million worth of tokens set to be released into circulation.

The releases include LayerZero (ZRO), Lombard Protocol (BARD), and River (RIVER), which are designed to increase the circulating supply and potentially lead to short-term volatility in the market.

LayerZero, a cross-chain interoperability protocol, will release 25.71 million ZRO tokens on March 20, representing 5.64% of its current circulating supply. Lombard Protocol, a DeFi platform focused on transforming Bitcoin into yield-generating liquid assets, will release 30 million BARD tokens on March 18, representing 11.09% of the circulating supply.

River, a protocol developing cross-chain abstract stablecoin infrastructure, will release 1.11 million RIVER tokens on March 22, representing 2.39% of its circulating supply.
