Crypto Industry Prepares to Influence 2026 Midterm Elections

The upcoming 2026 US midterm elections are expected to see a significant impact from the cryptocurrency industry, with various organizations vying for influence. Stand With Crypto (SWC), launched by Coinbase in 2023, has announced its strategy for the elections.

According to SWC, its priority will be on Ohio's 9th Congressional District and Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, where incumbents Marcy Kaptur and Scott Perry have voted against key crypto policies. The group plans to use an aggressive get-out-the-vote effort, including paid media campaigns, targeted SMS outreach, and digital organizing.

SWC has reported that in the 2024 elections, about 270 'pro-crypto' candidates won seats in the US House of Representatives and Senate. With many of these candidates up for reelection this year, the crypto industry is likely to play a significant role in shaping the outcome of key races.
