Wall Street Firms Invest Heavily in DeFi Protocols
Investors on Wall Street are increasingly showing interest in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, with three notable projects emerging as top performers: Uniswap (UNI), Morpho (MORPHO), and Jupiter (JUP).
A recent surge in token prices for these protocols can be attributed to investments from prominent Wall Street firms. BlackRock has purchased UNI tokens as part of its plan to integrate a $2B tokenized Treasury fund into Uniswap's ecosystem, while Apollo Global Management has acquired 90 million MORPHO tokens over four years, giving it governance rights and participation in the protocol's decision-making process.
ParaFi Capital also made a significant investment in Jupiter (JUP), deploying $35M at market price with an extended token lockup and warrants. This trend of direct institutional positioning in DeFi protocols is a shift from previous partnerships, indicating a growing interest in acquiring governance tokens and controlling infrastructure.
