MetaMask Hit by Widespread Connectivity Issues Across Multiple Blockchain Networks
MetaMask users have been experiencing connectivity issues across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum and several EVM ecosystems. The wallet's support team acknowledged the problem on June 13 and apologized for the inconvenience.
The disruption affects three key functions: wallet connectivity, dApp interactions, and NFT transactions. User reports describe wallets as either unresponsive or painfully slow.
MetaMask doesn't connect directly to blockchain nodes; instead, it routes traffic through Remote Procedure Call providers like Infura, which shares a parent company with MetaMask. This setup means the wallet's default connection path runs through a single provider's infrastructure.
