Macquarie Adjusts Crypto ETF Holdings, Builds Stake in Leading Treasury Company

Macquarie Group's quarterly filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission have revealed changes to its cryptocurrency exposure.

The firm reduced its spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) holdings by approximately 19.3% from 5.126 million shares in the previous quarter to 4.139 million shares in the first quarter of this year.

This decrease corresponds with a value drop, from $255 million to $159 million for the holding.

Macquarie also trimmed its position in BlackRock's spot Ether ETF (ETHA) by about 9.5%, lowering its holdings from 3.634 million shares to 3.289 million shares, and decreasing the value of that stake from approximately $81.5 million to around $52.1 million.

On a more positive note, Macquarie has invested in BitMine, a major Ethereum treasury company, with its first quarter holdings valued at about $41.53 million.
