X Introduces Cashtags for Real-Time Market Data Inside App

X has rolled out a new feature called Cashtags, which enables users to tap symbols like $BTC and $TSLA inside posts to view real-time price charts and related discussion without leaving the app. This feature is currently available in the US and Canada on iPhone, but X has not provided a timeline for Android support or expansion to other regions.

The Cashtags feature aims to reduce confusion around tickers by allowing users to search for specific stocks or crypto tokens directly within the app. When a user taps a Cashtag, X opens a page for that asset, displaying posts that mention the symbol and a price chart in the same view.

This move is part of X's broader efforts to expand its finance tools and connect conversation and chart data more closely. With Cashtags live, X is turning ticker mentions into active market links, allowing users to quickly transition from discussion to price action.
