Satoshi's Silence: AI Models Predict Low Odds for Bitcoin Movement
The mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity has been a topic of fascination for more than 17 years since the launch of Bitcoin.
To explore whether this enigma will ever be solved, researchers and developers used Bayesian scenario trees to estimate the odds that Nakamoto's dormant bitcoin will ever move and that his identity will one day be definitively identified.
A dozen AI models were enlisted to assess whether Nakamoto would move his 1.1 million bitcoins or reveal his true identity.
The AI models, including ChatGPT 5.5, Claude Sonnet, and Grok 4.3 Expert, used a Bayesian framework to weigh several plausible scenarios and assigned probabilities to each possibility.
The consensus among the models was that Satoshi Nakamoto's bitcoin is unlikely to move anytime soon, with some estimates ranging from under 3% to over 20% chance of movement.
