Alchemy's AgentPay Connects to Visa Network for AI-Powered Transactions
Alchemy's AI-powered payment middleware, AgentPay, has secured access to Visa's network. This integration allows merchants to accept transactions from AI agents without requiring custom integrations for each payment protocol.
AgentPay acts as a translation layer, routing instructions between AI agents and payment processors without holding or moving funds directly. Merchants register their APIs once and use a single endpoint that works across multiple payment protocols, including traditional rails and blockchain-based systems.
The platform supports Visa's infrastructure, as well as related systems like the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) and x402. This integration is part of Visa's intelligent commerce initiative, which aims to enable AI systems to initiate and authorize payments.
Alchemy serves over 100 blockchains, giving it a unique vantage point at the intersection of decentralized and traditional finance. Industry estimates suggest agent-based transactions could eventually reach hundreds of billions of dollars.
