Bitcoin and Ethereum Start July with Strong Gains Amid Crypto Winter
Bitcoin and Ethereum started July strong, posting their strongest monthly gains since May. On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Bitcoin (BTC-USD) opened at $63,997.17, up 0.7% from yesterday's opening price. This follows a similar trend for Ethereum (ETH-USD), which opened at $1,797.77, also up 0.8%.
Analysts believe that dedicated buyers have helped prop up prices and prevented this crypto winter from being as cold as previous ones. Michael Saylor's Strategy has been seen as a balancing force in the market, with corporate treasury buying stepping in to keep net market inflows positive.
For Ethereum, Bitmine's Tom Lee continues to bet on clarity Act boost, adding another 74 million Ether and rapidly approaching his goal of owning 5% of the supply. The all-time high for Bitcoin was $128,198.07 on October 6, 2025, while the all-time low value for Bitcoin was $0.04865 on July 14, 2010.
