American Bitcoin Corp Activates Additional Mining Units to Enhance Efficiency
American Bitcoin Corp (ABTC) has made a significant move in the cryptocurrency market by activating 11,298 additional ASIC mining units at its Alberta-based Drumheller operation. This strategic decision is part of the company's efforts to expand its Bitcoin mining operations and reduce power consumption costs per mined Bitcoin.
The deployment is expected to increase ABTC's total mining infrastructure to approximately 89,242 units, resulting in an additional 3.05 exahashes per second (EH/s) of computational capacity. This enhancement will improve the company's overall efficiency rating to 16 joules per terahash (J/TH).
According to Eric Trump, co-founder and chief strategy officer, this strategic decision demonstrates ABTC's focus on Bitcoin mining operations. The company is prioritizing its core business amidst a period of industry-wide challenges, including declining cryptocurrency valuations and rising electricity expenses.
