US Military Operates Active Node on Bitcoin Network

The US military has made headlines with its latest development in cryptocurrency research. According to Admiral Samuel Paparo, commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), the command has been operating an active node on the Bitcoin network.

This marks a significant milestone for the US military's involvement in cryptocurrency, as it is the first time a combatant command has directly participated in the Bitcoin peer-to-peer network.

Paparo made the announcement during a House Services committee hearing, where he also discussed the potential benefits of using Bitcoin as a tool of American power. The commander emphasized that INDOPACOM's research into Bitcoin focuses on its computer science aspects, rather than its financial value.
