Coinbase Partners with Chainlink to Bring Exchange Data On-Chain
Coinbase has announced a major partnership with Chainlink to bring its exchange data on-chain for the first time. This integration uses DataLink, an institutional-grade publishing service built on the Chainlink data standard. As one of the most institutionally integrated crypto exchanges in the US, Coinbase's exchange data will now be available on-chain, providing developers with access to high-quality datasets.
The integration includes a wide range of Coinbase's premium datasets, such as order book data, spot prices, perpetual futures data, and E-mini futures data. Developers can also tap into datasets covering crypto, metals, energy, and equity futures through Coinbase Derivatives Exchange. This move is expected to have a significant impact on the LINK price and DeFi markets.
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, described this integration as building programmable market infrastructure that accelerates the convergence of institutional finance and DeFi. Liz Martin, Vice President at Coinbase Markets, noted that the Chainlink data standard is battle-tested institutional-grade infrastructure, making it the clear choice for bringing Coinbase's market data into on-chain markets.
