Ripple Community Theorizes '589' as Intentional Pattern Throughout XRP History
The XRP community has been abuzz with a long-running theory that the number '589' holds significant meaning for Ripple and its native token. According to crypto commentator NFAdotcrypto, this theory goes beyond mere internet speculation and is instead a recurring pattern throughout XRP's history.
One of the earliest examples cited by NFAdotcrypto is XRP's first recorded trading price, which was $0.00589. This was not an isolated incident, as the commentator also pointed out that Ripple's trademark registration contains the digits 589 within it, and its serial number begins with 985, a rearrangement of the same three digits.
The pattern continues to appear in various aspects of Ripple's development, including its acquisition of Hidden Road. NFAdotcrypto noted that Hidden Road operated from an address associated with 589 Fifth Avenue, while its office location on the eighth floor of Fifth Avenue, combined with the digits in the ZIP code, also yielded another numerical reference to 589.
The commentator also highlighted Bank of America's address at 589 Broadway and pointed out that the settlement of Ripple's legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission occurred on May 8, 2025, a date that can be reduced to 589 by adding the final digit of the year. Additionally, Judge Analisa Torres brought the case to a close 589 weeks after taking office.
