Florida Man Arrested for Malware Operation Through Steam Games

The FBI has arrested a 21-year-old Florida resident for allegedly running a cybercrime operation that infected around 8,000 PCs with malware spread through video games. Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins is accused of stealing about $220,000 in cryptocurrency from roughly 80 wallets between May 2024 and February 2026.

The suspect used games listed on Steam to distribute the malware, which was designed to extract passwords and other sensitive data from victims' computers. The stolen funds were then transferred into Bitrefill gift cards, which were mostly used to pay for Uber Eats orders.

Investigators believe Wilkins financed the operation and marketed the malware to other cybercriminals on underground forums. They also found evidence of Signal chats between Wilkins and a suspected developer, who discussed methods to trick victims into approving fraudulent cryptocurrency transactions.
