Trump Accounts May Include BTC & XRP Deposits for American Children
The United States government's Trump Accounts project has gained attention for its potential to include major-caps such as Bitcoin (BTC) and XRP. The accounts are designed for children, aiming to help families build long-term wealth. During a celebration of the Trump account launch in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump emphasized his support for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Trump stated that he is a 'big crypto guy' due to concerns about China potentially leading in the field if the US doesn't. The government has indicated a preference for American-made cryptocurrencies like XRP or XLM for federal-grade adoption. However, the inclusion of BTC and XRP deposits in Trump accounts remains speculative, with neither confirmation nor denial from Donald Trump.
The project's goal is to bridge the gap between households with low and high incomes, focusing on young people. The Trump Accounts app offers features such as financial literacy education, investing modules, and personalized financial planning. Funding for the accounts can come from employers, charitable organizations, government programs, and parents, with a free registration process currently available.
