Supra Network Warns Community After Hackers Compromise Josh Tobkin's Social Media Account
The decentralized Supra network has been hit by a major security incident after hackers gained illegitimate access to the X account of Josh Tobkin, a core development team member.
Using this access, the hackers published a phishing campaign on the compromised social media account, claiming that the SUPRA token would be launching on the Solana blockchain. The campaign included a digital destination address on the Solana blockchain where users were supposed to send their cryptocurrencies to.
The Supra security team quickly detected and denied the announcement as fraudulent and unrelated to Tobkin. This type of activity is known as an exit scam and phishing campaign, which targets individuals with considerable baseline trust from their social media followers.
