Toncoin Rebrands to GRAM as Part of 'TON Great Again' Plan
Toncoin (TON) has experienced a significant price increase after its founder Pavel Durov announced that the token will be rebranded to GRAM. This move is part of a broader initiative called 'TON Great Again', which consists of seven steps aimed at revitalizing the TON ecosystem.
The network itself will retain the TON name, while only the token ticker will undergo a change. The transition is expected to take approximately three weeks.
According to Durov's plan, GRAM was originally intended as the name for the token in the first whitepaper before it encountered legal issues with U.S. regulators. With the SEC no longer pursuing the lawsuit and a more crypto-friendly administration now in place, Telegram has been taking a larger role in the TON ecosystem.
