Japan's Metaplanet Launches Digital Credit System on Bitcoin and Stablecoin
Japan-based treasury firm Metaplanet has launched a digital credit system in collaboration with JPYC and Progmat. The initiative aims to explore blockchain-based credit products, including digital corporate bonds.
The partnership will integrate Metaplanet's financial strategy based on the Bitcoin network with JPYC's capabilities to settle stablecoins. This will enable the creation of a more efficient and transparent credit market for both issuers and investors.
Metaplanet plans to leverage Progmat's security token infrastructure and its own expertise in structuring and distributing financial products. The study will also consider the ability of digital credit products to facilitate 24/7 trading and settlement with daily prorated calculation of interest and distributions.
The proposed collaboration will involve Metaplanet developing digital credit products based on Bitcoin, while JPYC will explore stablecoin issuance, redemption, and settlement for bond payments. Progmat will focus on offering a regulated platform for issuance, transfer of rights, and management of securities token holders.
