Bipartisan Lawmakers Meet on Capitol Hill to Finalize CLARITY Act

Bipartisan lawmakers are set to meet on Capitol Hill today to work out a middle ground for the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act. The largest remaining issue is ethics provisions, which have been a major point of contention.

Negotiators are considering additional provisions for decentralized finance (DeFi), but ethics remains the primary hurdle. Last week's White House meeting 'went well', and an updated ethics text will be released in the coming days, reflecting that productive conversation.

Legislators have also been continuing talks regarding protection of customers, with reports indicating that the latest alterations enhance cyber asset consumers' protection. Senate Majority Leader John Thune is hopeful that negotiations will reach a positive conclusion, saying there's a 'good chance' lawmakers can come to an agreement.
