MoonPay Acquires AI Accounting Startup Entendre to Bolster Financial Operations

MoonPay, a cryptocurrency payments firm, has acquired Entendre, an AI-powered accounting startup. This move marks MoonPay's fifth acquisition this year and signals its ambition to expand beyond payments into broader financial operations.

The deal positions MoonPay to move into the financial operations (FinOps) space, which combines traditional accounting with automated systems that are aware of blockchain technology. Entendre's AI-driven agent can automate complex tasks such as ledger reconciliation, month-end closing, and compliance reporting.

MoonPay is strengthening its core payments infrastructure after acquiring several other firms this year, including Helio and CoinSwitch. The Entendre acquisition represents a shift toward backend financial automation rather than front-end payment processing.
