PSL Data Center Campaign Threatens Crypto Mining Stocks and AI Infrastructure

The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), a Marxist-Leninist group, has been involved in blocking or delaying $23.6 billion in data center projects across 14 states. According to a report from the Bitcoin Policy Institute, PSL's efforts have successfully stalled several major developments, including a $12 billion hyperscale data center project in DeForest, Wisconsin.

The PSL has been accused of building coalitions around environmental concerns, water usage, noise pollution, and energy consumption to mobilize local opposition. In Durham, North Carolina, the group supported a petition seeking a 32-month moratorium on both data centers and crypto mining operations.

Neville Roy Singham, a tech entrepreneur turned political activist with ties to PSL, has been linked to the organization's financial network. Singham made his fortune in tech consulting before pivoting to politics, raising questions about foreign connections.
