Hayes Dumps 6,000 ETH Amid Bearish Momentum, Whales Pile In
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, recently liquidated 6,000 Ethereum tokens at a significant loss. He had acquired the tokens at an average price of $1,793 per coin, representing a total investment of around $10.58 million.
The transaction resulted in an estimated deficit of roughly $606,000 for Hayes. This move is unusual behavior for him, as his trading history typically shows acquiring digital assets during price weakness and exiting during strength.
However, other significant market participants were moving in the opposite direction. K3 Capital transferred 10,000 ETH tokens valued at around $16.9 million off the Binance exchange, while a cryptocurrency address tied to business figure Chun Wang acquired 7,650 ETH for approximately $12.9 million.
These two transactions represent accumulation exceeding 17,000 ETH, suggesting certain institutional players view present valuation levels as attractive entry points.
