Grayscale Seeks SEC Approval for Worldcoin ETF Listing
Crypto asset manager Grayscale has filed an application with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a Worldcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). The ETF, which will list on Nasdaq under the ticker GWLD, will allow investors to gain exposure to the WLD token through traditional brokerage accounts.
Grayscale's filing acknowledges regulatory pushback against Worldcoin in several jurisdictions. However, it notes that the fund will hold the WLD token as its principal asset and only process share creations and redemptions.
The ETF structure will allow for creation or redemption of shares in blocks of 10,000. Grayscale states that holders can gain exposure to WLD through traditional brokerage accounts, skipping complexities like crypto wallets and trading on an exchange.
