Trump's Crypto Bonanza: Meme Coin Sales Fuel Billion-Dollar Earnings

US President Donald Trump's financial disclosure shows he earned $2.2bn in 2025, with more than half coming from his family's crypto businesses. The figure is a massive increase from his previous year, and includes profits from the sale of his 'meme coin', TRUMP, which was launched three days before he returned to the White House.

The $TRUMP meme coin, created by CIC Digital LLC, made Trump $635m in 2025. Although it peaked at $74 in January, its value has since plummeted to $1.60, leaving many buyers with significant losses.

Trump defended his earnings on Wednesday, stating 'everybody's profiting' from his time in power and that the stock market is going up. He also claimed he doesn't get involved in his personal finances, saying 'we have funds that run my money.'
