Pi Network Unveils Roadmap for Open Network Anniversary

Pi Network has marked its first anniversary of Open Network with a significant update to its strategy. The project's founders, Chengdiao Fan and Nicolas Kokkalis, have outlined the next phase of Mainnet development, which will focus on ecosystem tokens, identity services, and artificial intelligence tools.

The Open Network has enabled wider connectivity, broader utility, and more interaction with external blockchain activity. Over the past year, the project has concentrated on keeping the network stable while supporting growth in apps and services that use Pi.

One of the key roadmap items is the support for application-specific tokens that operate alongside Pi as the base asset. The token plan includes on-chain tools to support circulation and exchange within the ecosystem, enabling more activity inside Pi apps.

The network has also made significant progress in identity verification, with over 16 million users completing KYC and migrating to Mainnet. The roadmap extends this work by planning to offer KYC as a service for other projects and businesses that need identity checks.

Artificial intelligence is another major pillar of the roadmap, with Pi Network planning AI features aimed at platform operations and developer productivity. The update referenced AI support for tooling, ecosystem services, and network management.
