Andreessen Horowitz' Blockchain Arm Aims for $2 Billion in Fifth Fundraising Effort
a16z crypto, the blockchain arm of venture giant Andreessen Horowitz, is in the midst of raising its fifth fund, aiming to secure approximately $2 billion. This development comes as the cryptocurrency market faces a downturn, with Bitcoin having dropped significantly since its all-time high in October.
The firm's latest fundraising effort will be less ambitious than its previous efforts, which have consistently grown larger over time. The a16z crypto team led by Chris Dixon is expected to close the raise by the end of the first half of 2026.
