Trump's Digital Asset Ban: Senate Draft Restricts Top Officials
The proposed CLARITY Act has sparked debate in Washington about the ethics of top public officials issuing digital assets. A new Senate draft restricts senior public officials from creating, sponsoring, or promoting digital assets until January 2029.
This limitation would apply to President Donald Trump and other high-ranking officials, including members of Congress, federal judges, and their spouses.
The bill aims to prevent conflicts of interest by requiring these officials to separate themselves from personal crypto investments. They must either sell those holdings or move them into qualified blind trusts.
