Cryptocurrency Market Sees Mixed Performance Over Past 24 Hours

The cryptocurrency market experienced a mixed performance over the past 24 hours, with some coins defying the general downtrend. TRX was among the top performers, trading at $0.2879 and up 1.1% in the last 24 hours.

Ethereum, Solana, and XRP, on the other hand, were under pressure, with ETH down 33.5% in the first quarter of 2026, marking its third-worst performance in history. According to Coinglass data, ETH saw $10.80 million in liquidations over the last 24 hours.

Solana also experienced significant liquidations, with $15.75 million in the last 24 hours, while XRP logged $2.28 million in total liquidations. Santiment's data shows that XRP has just gone through a big capitulation event, which may indicate a short-term price rebound.

Historically, Q1 weakness often leads to stronger follow-through later in the year, suggesting that Ethereum's underperformance is a cyclical volatility event within its long-term adoption curve. However, with five weeks left, there is still a risk of near-term downside as positioning continues to be adjusted.
