Reform UK Fails to Share Crypto Wallets with UK Regulators
Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, has come under scrutiny for its handling of cryptocurrency donations. According to reports, the party has not shared its crypto wallet information with the UK's Electoral Commission, despite apparent requests from the regulator.
The Electoral Commission has expressed concerns about the potential for foreign political interference and dubious funding through cryptocurrency donations. The commission is seeking new powers to regulate political crypto donations and strengthen existing laws to prevent impermissible foreign funds entering the UK system.
Reform UK's use of a Polish-based crypto processor, Radom, has also raised questions about regulatory oversight. Radom is exempt from scrutiny by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority and does not fully comply with Europe's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
