US Crypto Czar Exceeds Tenure Limit, Transitions to Science Advisory Role

David Sacks has concluded his tenure as the US Crypto Czar, having exceeded the 130-day limit for holding the position of special government employee.

Sacks, an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, will continue to provide guidance to the administration in his new role as Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).

Established to gather evidence and make policy recommendations on science, technology, and innovation policy, PCAST comprises 13 tech leaders, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam.
