Dashjr's BIP-110 Proposal Sparks 12-Year-Old Controversy
A long-standing controversy from 2014 has resurfaced in the Bitcoin community as developer Luke Dashjr's proposal, BIP-110, aims to limit non-money data on the blockchain.
Nakamoto CEO David Bailey has reignited a 12-year-old dispute involving Dashjr, who he claims secretly added blacklists to Gentoo Linux package in 2014. This move blocked payments to gambling services like SatoshiDice from the Gentoo build of Bitcoin software.
The issue was later reversed, and the blacklists made optional. However, Bailey argues that this incident disqualifies Dashjr from steering Bitcoin's development as a sole maintainer due to his judgment being compromised.
