Crypto investors in the US can now seamlessly transition into traditional investments like Apple and SpaceX without leaving their Uphold app, thanks to the platform's new fractional stock trading feature.
The feature allows eligible customers to access over 4,000 stocks and ETFs, including Apple and SpaceX, using a single transaction flow. Supported cryptocurrencies can fund equity purchases directly through the app, eliminating the need for multiple steps or transfers between apps.
Uphold's president of US operations, Nancy Beaton, stated that 'People want one app for all of their investing, crypto included.' The executive emphasized that equities on Uphold are designed to make this a reality by allowing customers to sell cryptocurrencies and buy shares in a single step without requiring currency conversions or transfers.
The transaction process involves Uphold selling the selected cryptocurrency for US dollars, which are then used to purchase the security. This means that users can convert their crypto holdings into stocks like Berkshire Hathaway or ETFs in just one step.
