Cronje Steps Down from Sonic Labs to Focus on FlyingTulip

Andre Cronje, known as the 'godfather of DeFi', has stepped down from the board of Sonic Labs. He clarified his role was mainly technical, focusing on building systems rather than making business decisions.

Cronje said his job in the project was mostly technical, not business-related. He explained that he first joined the Fantom project in 2018 as a technical advisor and helped design the system that made it work.

He also mentioned working on Sonic's new structure, including tools like Sonic Gateway. However, he emphasized that building technology is different from running the company.

The exit comes as Sonic Labs hands control to a new executive team as part of a governance and leadership reset.
