Crypto Market Decline Accelerates as Institutional Selling and ETF Outflows Intensify
The digital asset market has experienced a sharp correction, with Bitcoin and Ethereum losing significant value. According to recent data, Bitcoin has fallen by more than half of its October 2025 peak, while Ethereum's decline has been even steeper.
While macroeconomic uncertainty has contributed to the weakness, crypto-specific developments have driven the downturn primarily. Institutional selling, ETF outflows, and leveraged liquidations have all played a role in the market decline.
The correction has also been marked by deteriorating investor confidence, with many questioning the future of institutional participation in digital assets. Large Bitcoin holders, or 'whales', have accelerated selling pressure, with nearly 25,000 BTC sold within a single week during the height of the market decline.
