Securitize Makes History with Blockchain Tokenization Debut
Securitize (SECZ) made history on Thursday by tokenizing its shares on both Solana and Avalanche blockchains, becoming the first publicly traded company to do so immediately upon listing.
The move coincided with Securitize's market debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where it was listed under the ticker symbol SECZ. The company's public offering generated $400 million in capital, pushing its valuation beyond $1 billion.
Securitize's shares concluded their inaugural trading session with a 4.4% gain, settling at $12.30 after reaching an intraday peak of $13.70. Extended trading hours saw additional momentum, with shares advancing another 2.4% to close at $12.60.
In addition to its NYSE listing, Securitize's tokenized equity was available on Solana and Avalanche blockchains, with investors holding a total of $295 million worth of tokenized SECZ shares on the first trading day.
