US Seizes $15 Billion Worth of Bitcoin from Cambodian Cybercrime Network
The U.S. Department of Justice has seized 127,271 Bitcoin from a Cambodian-based cybercrime network tied to Prince Group, in what is described as the largest forfeiture action in DOJ history.
The seizure is valued at approximately $15 billion and targets a sprawling fraud operation that allegedly used forced-labor scam compounds to defraud Americans through fake crypto investment platforms.
At the center of the case is Chen Zhi, founder and chairman of Prince Holding Group, who was arrested by Cambodian authorities in January 2026 and extradited to China. U.S. officials accuse him of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy.
The investigation also targets Hu Xiaowei, described as a senior figure and alleged 'second-in-command' to Chen Zhi, who was arrested in Tokyo's Metropolitan Police in June 2026.
