Visa Expands Stablecoin Settlement Program to Nine Blockchains
Payments giant Visa has continued to expand its global stablecoin settlement pilot program, with the addition of five new blockchains.
The company now supports nine blockchains in total, including Avalanche, Ethereum, Solana, Stellar, Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon, and Tempo. Each of the newly added networks brings unique features to the program, such as configurable privacy on Canton or fast and low-cost transactions on Polygon.
Visa's expansion of its multichain infrastructure aims to align with current market conditions where liquidity and activity are spread across different blockchains. The company noted that this approach allows its partners to choose the networks that best fit their needs while providing a single settlement layer for Visa.
