SBF's X Account Sparks Controversy with Memecoin Promoters
Sam Bankman-Fried's X account has been making headlines again, this time for following promoters of memecoin schemes. The account, which claims to relay the convicted fraudster's words from prison through a proxy, has been tracking various accounts that promote insider enrichment and memecoins.
According to Web3 Alerts, Bankman-Fried's X account followed several suspicious accounts in February and March. One of these accounts promotes a token that has lost 90% of its value since December, with a description that reeks of AI-generated buzzwords. Another account claims to be a 'chaos trader on Solana shitters', while yet another boasts about manifesting a 1000x return.
The @SBF_FTX account uses Bureau of Prisons-approved phone calls and emails to relay Bankman-Fried's words via tweets. However, despite the disclaimer that follows do not indicate endorsements, the convicted fraudster's account still holds influence in the crypto market. For example, when it posted 'gm' in September 2025, the former FTX token FTT surged 60% within minutes.
