Scaramucci Predicts Choppy Crypto Market Amid CLARITY Act Gridlock
Anthony Scaramucci, former White House communications director, has expressed doubts about the fate of the CLARITY Act due to internal conflicts within the Trump administration. He believes that President Trump's own decisions have effectively killed the bill, which aims to regulate cryptocurrency.
Scaramucci pointed out three main reasons why the act is unlikely to pass: Trump's launch of meme coins before his inauguration, which he said left a 'big sour taste' among lawmakers; his territorial posturing toward Greenland, which alienated potential supporters; and the ongoing military campaign in Iran, which has consumed political bandwidth.
Scaramucci stated that gathering 60 Senate votes to clear the filibuster is nearly impossible in the current environment. He warned that missing the window before the November midterm elections could delay meaningful crypto regulation for years, leaving layer-1 tokens like Solana and Avalanche stuck.
