MEXC Taps Bybit Veteran Robert MacDonald for Compliance Chief Role
MEXC has named Robert MacDonald as its chief compliance officer, adding another veteran of the crypto and finance world to its team. MacDonald joins from Bybit, where he served as chief legal and compliance officer since 2024. He previously held senior compliance roles at Standard Chartered and Binance.
MacDonald's arrival comes as MEXC expands into tokenized stocks, exchange-traded funds, and initial public offering access, moving closer to securities rules it has largely operated outside. His global remit will include running the exchange's compliance strategy, governance framework, and dealings with regulators.
In a statement, MEXC CEO Vugar Usi said innovation and compliance can no longer be treated as separate priorities. MacDonald emphasized that trust is not built through a single fund, audit or announcement, but rather through regular, independently verified disclosures.
