Aave Sees Strongest Day of New Wallet Creation Since 2021 Amid Rising DeFi Interest
Aave's decentralized lending protocol saw its strongest day of new wallet creation in nearly five years on June 30, adding 1,806 new wallets to Ethereum. This surge is a sign of fresh interest in the AAVE token, even as the broader crypto market weakens.
The AAVE token has risen about 20% in a week and now holds roughly $12.2 billion in total value locked, thanks in part to anticipation around a version upgrade and revenue-focused changes. Standard Chartered's long-term price outlook for AAVE has also drawn renewed attention to DeFi.
While the number of new wallets is promising, analysts warn that it must translate into real usage to sustain the rally. If participation deepens into actual deposits, borrowing, and revenue, it would give Aave a firmer base than a price bounce alone.
