Iran-US Ceasefire Bets Raise Insider Trading Concerns on Polymarket
A new wave of suspicious bets on Polymarket, a crypto-based prediction platform, has raised concerns about insider trading.
The platform, which allows users to wager on various events, including geopolitical conflicts, has seen a surge in large bets on an imminent ceasefire between the US and Iran. According to reports, several accounts have placed almost $70,000 in wagers for a deal to be reached before March 31.
While Polymarket has not confirmed whether these accounts have inside information, experts say that the suspicious activity is likely indicative of insider trading. Former CoinTelegraph researcher Ben Yorke noted that some accounts may have split from one original account, suggesting a single investor trying to hide their identity and bets.
