Ripple's Monthly XRP Sales Raise Concerns Over Token Dilution
Ripple, a leading blockchain technology company, has been accused of using its own token, XRP, to fund its operations. According to CEO Brad Garlinghouse, the company sells approximately 300 million XRP every month, which is roughly 20-25% of the total monthly supply.
This practice has been ongoing since the company's inception in 2012 and has led to concerns about dilution of the token's circulating supply. The SEC has also criticized Ripple for using its partnerships as a means to sell XRP without registering it with the regulatory body.
The company's largest partner, MoneyGram, has admitted to selling XRP as soon as they receive it, without holding onto any of the tokens themselves. This has led some to question the true value and adoption of XRP in the market.
