Pollak Steps Back from Base App Leadership Amid Failed Social Strategy

Coinbase's Jesse Pollak has stepped back from leading the Base app, citing that his bet on an on-chain social economy failed to drive crypto adoption.

Pollak acknowledged that while developers did spur adoption through products like stablecoins and prediction markets, social applications 'disintegrated completely.'

He handed over the leadership of the Base app to Jordan Fish, also known as Cobie, who will work to make it 'the best damn app for on-chain,' including expanding beyond the Base ecosystem.
