A woman suspected of being involved in a cryptocurrency scam has been arrested in Bangkok.
The arrest comes as part of an ongoing investigation into a scheme that has deceived investors out of at least 5 million baht. Police allege that the suspect, Gina Romano, was a member of a gang that targeted people in the Northeast with a fake investment opportunity.
According to police, the victims were lured into investing through Facebook by being sent a link to an investment scam website called bitazzathe.com.
