Grayscale Q2 Altcoin Watchlist Emphasizes AI Crypto Names

Grayscale's latest update to its Q2 altcoin watchlist has provided insights into the company's focus on specific crypto themes. The list now includes 30 assets, down from 36 in the previous quarter.

The largest segment in the updated list is AI crypto names, with a total of 10 tokens included. This marks a significant shift towards AI-related projects and away from consumer-facing tokens, which were previously prominent.

Other changes to the watchlist include the removal of Aptos, Arbitrum, Binance Coin, and Polkadot from smart contracts. Euler, Lombard, Plume Network, and Sky also dropped off the roster in financials.

The update suggests that Grayscale is favoring conviction over breadth in its selection process. The company's focus on AI crypto names may be driven by growing institutional and commercial interest in these projects.
