Arbitrum Freezes $71.15M in Assets Linked to KelpDAO Hack
Arbitrum has swiftly responded to the recent hacking incident involving KelpDAO, freezing $71.15 million worth of assets. This move comes just 20 minutes after the hack was reported by on-chain tracker Lookonchain. The frozen assets were part of a massive $292 million drain last week, attributed to KelpDAO's vulnerable rsETH setup on a single-DVN configuration.
The freezing mechanism employed by Arbitrum underscores its significance in Ethereum scaling and rapid smart contract security. In the current crypto market landscape, this feature is crucial for mitigating risks associated with hacking incidents. The incident has left wrapped ether stranded across 20 chains, emphasizing the importance of robust security measures.
