Thailand SEC Eyes Overhaul of Crypto Futures Licensing
The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking public comment on proposed rule changes that would expand the country's crypto derivatives market.
The proposal aims to build on earlier reforms that recognized digital assets as eligible underlying assets for futures contracts.
Regulators said the changes are designed to lower entry barriers while strengthening oversight, enabling firms to operate within existing structures under stricter compliance requirements.
The SEC added that the reforms will give investors more tools for hedging and portfolio management while aligning local derivatives standards with international practices.
